Summary:
The Place for Speech Therapy is looking for an experienced and dedicated full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. The SLP’s primary responsibility will be to provide direct therapy services to children ages 2-6 across multiple clinics throughout the Chicagoland area and surrounding suburbs. Ideal candidates would have exceptional clinical skills and experience with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), apraxia, phonological errors, articulation, language, voice, pragmatics, AAC, and feeding. This position reports directly to the Lead Speech-Language Pathologist.

What You Will Do:
• Perform initial and ongoing assessments and implement individualized and effective therapy programs.
• Build up and maintain a full caseload.
• Assess and document children’s abilities using clinical observation, caregiver report, and standardized assessments.
• Prepare and maintain accurate and organized patient records (e.g., evaluation, daily notes, progress reports, billing, etc.) for tracking and auditing purposes.
• Demonstrate knowledge of current best practices in speech-language pathology.
• Demonstrate effective communication skills and an ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
• Provide training and education to family/caregivers and other professionals.
• Create engaging and motivating therapy activities.
• Have excellent time management skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
• Maintain positive, driven culture amongst therapists, clients, and their families.
• Represent The Place for Speech Therapy in a positive and enthusiastic way to all internally
• and externally.

What Will Set You Apart:
• Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
• Must possess or be eligible for a Certificate of Clinical Competence from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
• Licensed or eligible for licensure as a SLP in the state of Illinois.
• Illinois driver’s license and car insurance.
• Experience working with children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD)
• Bilingual therapist (Spanish & English)
• Familiarization with billing for speech therapy services
• Reliable transportation
• Ability to multi-task and prioritize
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
